What is the NAHA Members forum? The NAHA Members forum is an interactive forum where NAHA members can post topics for discussion, and respond to those topics. When you view a topic, you see the post that started the topic and every response thereafter. It helps with communication of issues among the members, and is good for "getting people involved" in the association. It even allows for polls to be created, so that NAHA members can explicitly vote for or against a given proposal, for example. For a peek at what the forums look like, check out the Hillclimb forums on www.KingOfTheHill.org – the NAHA Members forum is actually a part of those forums, but it’s invisible to anyone except registered NAHA Members – you won’t even know it exists until you register on the forums and the webmaster makes you a member of the NAHA Members group – then it will appear right beside the rest of the King of the Hill forums the next time you log in. There is a link directly to the forums from the NAHA website as well. How do I get registered for the NAHA Members forum? Participation in the NAHA Members forum is certainly not compulsory – you don’t have to sign up. But if you would like to be a part of the forum, and the NAHA Board of Directors hopes you do, here’s how you get registered: 1. Follow the links to the Hillclimb Forums from the NAHA website, or from www.KingOfTheHill.org. 2. If you aren’t already a registered member, you’ll be recognized as a Guest. If you are just a Guest, you won’t have access to the NAHA Members forum, but you can see all the rest of the forums. If you try to go directly to the NAHA Members forum from the NAHA website, and are a Guest, you’ll get a message saying you aren’t allowed to see that forum, and you need to either log in or register first. 3. To register, look under the forum banner (it will either be King of the Hill or NAHA, depending on how you got to the forum) to where it says "Welcome Guest." Beneath that welcome message is a line with a couple options – Log In and Register. Click the Register button and follow that process. Be sure to spell your email address correctly when asked for it – you will get a confirmation email sent to that address that you have to open to finalize your registration in the forums. 4. After completing the registration forms on the website, go to your email and look for that confirmation message. When it arrives, open it and follow the simple instructions. After that, you will be a member of the King of the Hill forums, and will be able to post in all of the generally available forums there – except the NAHA Members forum… 5. Once your KOTH registration process has been completed, send the webmaster (Kaleb Northrup – "Motoman" on the forums) a private message in the forums, or an email (Webmaster@NAHAHillclimb.org) asking to be added to the NAHA Members group. I will verify that you are indeed a member of NAHA, and then add you to that group. The reason I have not automated this process is to keep non-NAHA people out of the forum – the NAHA Members forum is for internal issues only, and I want to verify everyone who gets in there. That, and automating things is hard… 6. I will send you back a private message in the forums, or an email (depending on how you contacted me) and let you know that you’re in the NAHA Members group. Now, the next time you visit the forums, from either the NAHA or KOTH websites, you’ll have access to the NAHA Members forum. 7. PLEASE respect the purpose of the NAHA Members forum – it is ONLY for NAHA internal issues…it’s not for general chit-chat, it’s not for general racing stuff, it’s not for anything except NAHA-specific internal issues. There are other forums available for everything else – please feel free to use them. 8. BEHAVE yourselves on the forums. You’ll agree to an acceptable use policy when you sign up for the forums…it’s basic stuff. Be advised that the webmaster (and in the KOTH Members forum, the board members) can moderate the forums…including editing your posts, deleting your posts, giving you warnings about your behavior, and even banning you from the forums as an absolute last resort. I have no reason to expect that any of these actions will be taken…please don’t give us any reasons to. The forums should replace the old MSN site – and hopefully be easier to deal with and provide better functionality. The MSN site will likely be phased out – please use the forums instead. If you have any questions or problems with the forums (or anything else relating to the NAHA or KOTH websites), contact the webmaster, Kaleb Northrup, at Webmaster@NAHAHillclimb.org. |
